WRITING

ORIGINAL PILOTS

ETSY WITCH

In this light hour-long pilot, we find OLLY FLORES struggling to make ends meet as an internet witch. But things go from bad to worse when a candle spell gone awry burns Olly’s apartment to ash. And then her abuser gets acquitted. Again. Rather than answering her prayers, Olly starts to feel like the universe is conspiring against her. But with the help of her best witchy friend DEJA and Deja’s aunt, the celebrity psychic MISS ADA, Olly reluctantly takes a demoralizing day job that puts her face-to-face with the jackass who hurt her. Now Olly is forced to choose–-should she take the high road and continue her magical journey of love, light and inner healing, or curse her abuser in a the way he deserves? Of course she chooses the latter. And is immediately rewarded with the fame and opportunity she’s been manifesting for several moon cycles–but she’s also accused of committing a magical crime. Etsy Witch follows Olly as she tries to do good in a world constantly tempting her to be bad. Over the course of the series we watch her turn from Miss Rachel to Beatrix Kiddo all while navigating her friendships, career and of course, love.

After writing and producing the short film BASIC WITCH, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about witches and the internet. Then when certain current events brought the existence of Etsy witches into the mainstream, I knew someone was going to write Etsy Witch and I was going to be pissed if they beat me to it. But I also absolutely love this concept and want to share it with the world at large.

ON THE LINE

Set in a public health clinic, ON THE LINE is a light hourlong that centers on three women—LISA, an experienced nurse, SOCHI, a young working mother and SARAH, a troubled teen, whose paths collide when Sarah (accidentally!) stabs her dad and gets thrown out of the house.

This pilot was inspired by my seething rage over the state of women’s healthcare in the US. Formerly entitled Clinical, this script was selected for the Athena Film Festival’s Abortion Pipeline Project Writer’s Lab and Women’s Voices Rock Film Festival in 2025.

FOOTLIGHTS

Footlights is an original hour-long drama that centers on former ballerina DARCY COOPER. In the wake of an abuse scandal, Darcy attempts to revive one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the country. But in the week leading up to their first big performance, her star student, YUKI TAYLOR, sustains a serious injury which throws the school’s future into jeopardy. Darcy is determined that the show must go on, but in her attempts to do right by her students, she’ll have to reckon with the harmful habits of her own past.

This pilot was inspired by my love of ballet and Friday Night Lights and is an unapologetic tribute to that series.  It was also a Semi-Finalist for the Athena Film Festival Writers’ Lab, a Quarterfinalist for the Cinestory TV Retreat & Fellowship and is currently a Quarterfinalist for The Writers’ Lab, 2026.

THE YOUNG LADY’S GUIDE TO SURVIVING DEATH

Beth and Gwen have been friends since, like, forever. So when Gwen dies suddenly after a night of partying, Beth is completely lost. She numbs the pain by partying hard, drinking harder, and starting an affair with her Professor — until Gwen’s ghost reappears, and Beth realizes that getting exactly what she wished for may just make everything even harder.

When I was in my twenties, I suddenly and tragically lost a close friend and kept wishing they would come back as a ghost. So I wrote this pilot as a way of coping. This half-hour pilot won first place in the PAGE AWARDS.

SPECS

If anyone still cares to read specs, I’ve written spec episodes of THE PITT, THE GREAT, BARRY, YOU’RE THE WORST, GIRLS, and MODERN FAMILY.
